My husband contracted Covid in December of 2021 and was hospitalized at University Hospital Medical Center in Parma Ohio on December 26, 2021. Once he recovered enough to leave the ICU step down, he was still using a C-PAP and high flow oxygen machine at full capacity or 100% so he could not be released to go home. He was transferred to Grace Hospital Long Term Acute Care Unit on the 3rd Floor of UH Parma. The staff at this facility is amazing and my husband received the best care. His nurses (Grace, both Mary Jo's & Mariah) and doctors (Dr. Debs, and all the Grace physicians) were so attentive and caring, they answered all questions and kept me informed of his progress. The nurse's aids were very professional, well trained and took great pride in patient care. Nicole was one of my husbands favorite aids as they formed a friendship of sorts. The physical and occupational therapist (Scott and Rich), speech therapist and respiratory therapists (Dillon and all the others), all went above and beyond to take care of my husband and get him to the next level. I also want to mention Jackie, the social worker that helped me with a paperwork issue and the eventual release of my husband to a skilled nursing facility for rehab, who also went above and beyond to assist me in navigating this process. I highly recommend this facility to anyone that needs this type of care. Thanks to all the staff Grace Hospital Long Term Acute Care Unit that gave such great care to my husband during his stay there. I will forever be grateful.

A couple months ago I had a huge decision to make in terms of my mother’s care. I read the reviews & was 100% sure this was NOT the place for her. However, it was the closest place to me. When I say these reviews don’t do this place justice. I was prepared for my mother to be here for months & in less than a month she is on her way to rehab. The care she received was beyond phenomenal. I don’t have not one bad thing to say about the aids, nurses or doctors. When she came in she wasn’t in the best condition & they turned it around. I immediately seen a change in her appearance, wounds, mental & physical health. The nurses here CARE & it shows. She’s getting ready to be discharged tomorrow & while I am happy she’s one step closer to getting home I am sad to leave such wonderful, caring people behind. These women have become family. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank every single person who took care of my mother Janice & to anybody who is considering sending their loved one to Grace LTAC in Parma DO IT! I promise you won’t regret it.

First let me start off by saying, I was NOT a fan of any LTACH facilities as my mother had a horrible experience last year. Unfortunately my mother had a major surgery and needed to go to a LTACh facility in August. The case manager that was working with my mother at the clinic provided me the liaison’s number to Grace Parma location. I called and spoke with Kim, explained my mother’s situation and what she currently needed. I then proceeded to tell her how we had a horrible experience last year at a different facility. Kim took the time to listen to my concerns, my reservations, answered all my questions. After speaking with Kim, and seeing the facility, I decided this was the best option for my mother. My mother was moved to Grace at the end of August with a number of concerns that needed to be considered and cared for. Here we are 2 weeks later, and those concerns no longer an issues. Grace has truly been a blessing. From the care my mother gets, to the physical therapy! The staff is amazing! I’ve been in the health care field many years ago, and I have seen it all, under staffed, underpaid, the lack of care many have, many bigger facilities just don’t care. They are there for a paycheck and that is it. But, Grace, you will receive the quality care, the compassion, the understanding from the staff. They truly do care about their patients and not only just the patients but their families as well. I am truly grateful for Kim and the amazing staff at Grace for taking such good care of my mother. Without them, I don’t know where we would be.

My brother was being cared for here. Everyone on the team was helpful. I understand how much work it takes to care for people who can’t care for themselves. I tried my best to give a hand as much as I could. It was nice having people who genuinely care even when they’re busy and stressed. I don’t understand why people complain about these small hospitals. If you want 1 on 1 care then these days you have to do it yourself or be a millionaire. The fact that people even try to do this difficult job speaks volumes. It was humbling enough to see my brother in a coma and potentially never be the same, but I’ll never push someone away who is trying to help. So thank you grace for all that you do. Keep up the hard work - it’s definitely a line of work I will never be able to handle myself. PS - huge thank you to the physical therapy team. Movement really is healing. I wish they gave you more time with the patients
